The Opel Kadett A soon got a successor in the form of the Kadett B, which came onto the market in 1965. At over four metres long, the Kadett B is quite a bit larger than its predecessor. That extra length mainly benefited the cargo space: it was no less than 1.57 metres long. That's still a lot these days. Also not unimportant: the Kadett Caravan is now available with four doors.
Once again, the Kadett becomes a success, this time with more than 2.6 million units produced from 1965 to 1973. That success is not limited to its home country or even Europe. About half of all examples are sold outside Germany, spread over as many as 120 countries worldwide.
