The Renault 4, commonly referred to as the 4L, first appeared in 1961. It was immediately embraced by the French people, who made this car a legend among its peers. With its sleek design, it became the favourite of the police, the post office, families and even the Marreau brothers for the Paris Dakar. It became the symbol of the factory on Seguin Island and would remain in production until 1992.
