This model of the Morane Saulnier is in a German livery because after the occupation of France, production continued under German control and the Germans used them mainly for training purposes. They also shipped a small quantity to Croatia.
This example is an MS 406 in German Luftwaffe colours from 1943. It has a dark green and grey camouflaged fuselage with a mottled blue fuselage and yellow underbelly and tail. The tail also bears the German swastika in black.
The Morane-Saulnier M.S. 406 was a French fighter, developed and produced by Morane-Saulnier from 1938.> It was France's most produced fighter during World War II and one of only two French designs to exceed 1,000. At the start of the war, it was one of only two French-built aircraft with a speed of 400 km/h (250 mph) - the other being the Potez 630.
