Land Rover Series II Tow Truck
The Land Rover Series II was introduced in 1958 and was produced until 1961, when it was replaced by the IIA. While the Series I had flat sides, the Series II is immediately recognisable by its rounded side panels, which allowed the wider track of the car. It came in short and long wheelbases with numerous body combinations, including fixed roofs, canvas roofs, open roofs, station wagons, etc.
This open-roof Land Rover was used as a tow truck, complete with a bright yellow, pristine towing crane facing the rear of the flatbed. With a winch on the front bumper, which is always handy when you need to pull a vehicle out of a ditch!
