The 1955 Silver Cloud continued Rolls-Royce's successful tradition of introducing new models that retained the already well-developed and refined powertrains.
In this case, the new Silver Cloud with its longer, lower chassis, softer suspension and more modern standard factory-built steel cartilage used the tried and tested 4,887 cc, 155 HP F-head inline-six and four-speed automatic transmission.
More than mechanically competent, the Silver Cloud was also beautifully proportioned with a pleasing combination of sharp edges and flowing curves.
It was one of the most beautiful cars of its time and helped usher Rolls-Royce into a more modern era.
