In the opening moments of 'Quantum of Solace' and immediately after the finale of 'Casino Royale', the Aston Martin DBS returns under the control of James Bond, who is relentlessly pursued by agents of the shadowy organisation Quantum.
Driving through the tunnel road that runs alongside Lake Garda in Italy, the DBS suffers dramatic damage when 007 collides with a truck while dodging oncoming traffic, resulting in the driver's door being completely torn off.
The opening sequence of 'Quantum of Solace' was filmed on location in Italy over 16 days in spring 2008. The location on Lake Garda provided numerous challenges, not least because of the long and narrow tunnel in which the chase was filmed.
With only two lanes available in the limited space, absolute precision was required by the stunt team.
