The Fiat 500 B Furgoncino is a Fiat Topolino in the version of an enclosed van with straight-back, double "suicide doors."
Some pre-1961 cars had the hinges at the rear, especially at the front doors; entry is then easier. These doors are called suicide doors and were banned in 1961. When opening the door while driving, the driving wind would cause the door to open all the way and the passenger could fall out of the car. Also in an open door and a rear-end collision, an exiting passenger would be unhappily trapped.
Production of the Topolino began before World War II in 1936 and resumed after the war until 1955.
The version Model B was produced from 1948 to 1949.
